The Japanese Sword Museum in Sumida-ku, Tokyo, is one of a few museums focusing on Japanese swords.

This museum, run by the Society for Preservation of Japanese Art Swords, was originally opened in Shibuya, Tokyo, in 1968, and was relocated here in 2018. The central purposes of this museum are the preservation of traditional sword producing technology, the establishment of how to evaluate swords and collection as well as exhibition of excellent swords in the world. Many excellent swords, most of them from the 12th to 14th century, are stored here. National treasures, important cultural assets and important arts, they are all designated by the state, are included in this precious collection.
